Managing reservations on WhatsApp during your hike

With reservations primarily handled through WhatsApp, you won't receive confirmation emails or have the ability to pay in advance. That can feel informal, but it works well if you stay organized and communicate clearly. This post covers a few simple steps to keep everything on track for your upcoming stays.
Save the accommodation as a contact in your phone
Create a clear, searchable contact so you can quickly find the conversation later. Include the night, accommodation name, and host name. For example: Night 1 Green Gold Lodge Jason This becomes especially useful when you have multiple bookings and conversations happening at once. If you ever forget the details, you can also check your itinerary in our app.
A week before your arrival send a reminder message
A simple reminder message that you're arriving on < date > and you're looking forward to meeting them.
"Hola, como esta? Solo quería confirmar la reservación para el enter date here. ¡Muchas gracias y nos vemos pronto!"
The day of your arrival, send the host your ETA
Your Estimated Time of Arrival helps hosts plan their day and be ready for you. Even a rough window is useful. If your timing changes, send a quick update.
"Hola, buenos días! Voy en camino y mi hora estimada de llegada es aproximadamente a las enter ETA here. ¡Nos vemos pronto!"
Some hosts use dissappearing messages
Occasionally, a host will have disappearing messages enabled in WhatsApp. WhatsApp will notify you when this is active. Since messages will be deleted after a set period, take screenshots of anything important, especially the agreed price and booking confirmation, so you have a record if needed.
